Onkar & Damneet’s Mehendi Sequence

2015 in Nairobi is where Onkar & Damneet made the eternal promise to each other. In keeping with the traditions of a Sikh wedding, they had a ‘Jaago’ night clubbed with the wedding mehendi celebrations the day before their wedding. ‘Jaago’ literally means wake up and the tradition originates from times when the relatives of the bride and the groom would around the village with pots at night to invite everybody for the festivities the next day. These pots used to be decorated with oil candles because electricity wasn’t a thing still!
